Quantifying the benefits to collaborating companies of working with groups of students on UG projects

This is a sub-project of Get STEM working: innovation with employer and student engagement

Outputs

  • Evaluate the worth to the employer of the students’ contribution through their projects by comparing it to an equivalent stage delivered by commercial companies and the value of the knowledge transferred
  • Include within this process a list of achievements and the value (in £) of those achievements and, where possible, some quantification of the reduction in development time
  • Recommendations as to how the information could be used to encourage other companies to engage in student projects
