Development and implementation of a programme of employability skills for Science undergraduates

This is a sub-project of Strengthening, extending and embedding employer engagement

Outputs

The Employability Skills development programme is embedded within the degree programme timetable

  • A specifically designed e-learning course on Moodle has been successfully delivered and utilized throughout the project
  • A PDP system was made available for students use throughout the programme
  • Feedback has been provided by each individual student for each session attended
  • Feedback has been provided to students for each session, outlining other relevant skills development opportunities available within the University
  • A mentoring scheme involving 22 graduates has been established and rolled out
  • Learning objectives have been written for each session
  • This project has featured in HE STEM News Spring/Summer 2012 (p.22) and presented at the SW HE STEM Workforce Development and Employability Conference

  • Summer internships opportunities have been promoted through the University of Bath Careers Service
