The Widening Participation projects funded in the South West all looked to bring about improvements in the ways that universities and associated organisations 'do' widening participation. The projects therefore included not only work to develop new and effective outreach resources but also, the development of a range of good practice guidance and materials to support widening participation practitioners, STEM academics and teachers.

Common across the National HE STEM Programme, all projects were coordinated by multi-institutional steering groups so that learning could be transferred across sectors. You can find out full details about each project through their individual web-pages on the right (where you will also find all project-specific outputs).

In addition, below you will find a Good Practice Guide that includes a huge variety of examples of STEM outreach activities alongside top tips and resources on effective outreach and key learning from the Aimhigher programme.
