Curriculum & Support > Maths Communications Module

Description

Subject: Maths

The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Bath runs a 'Maths Communications' module for around 15 final year students every year.

Students undertake a series of projects including Bath Taps into Science, an annual Science Fair for school children that is held in Bath every March. For the fair, the undergraduate students train up school students to deliver a range of science activities and displays. As part of the module, undergraduates also deliver: a Masterclass, an optional activity (usually a school visit) and a permanent piece of work (eg. a poster / website). The students receive training in communicating, evaluating and presenting maths and science. The course carries 6 credit units.

Target Audience

Final year undergraduates and school children.
